Mark Z-Man is originally from Chicago where he studied at The Art Institute. He lives and works in New York City as a painter, cartoonist, illustrator and art teacher. His cartoons, comics and illustrations have appeared in New York Magazine, Craine's Chicago Business, San Francisco Magazine, Inside Chicago Magazine, Funny Times, and many others. He teaches art at Pratt Institute in New York City, and works as a painter/portrait artist. His extensive work in animation includes work on Cap'n Crunch television commercials. He has worked as a caricature artist for theme parks and private events from coast to coast. His comic strip Motorhead is published monthly in Electrical Apparatus Magazine, based in Chicago.
